by Father
See her hiding in the attic
She wants to say hello
To all her friends and dear ones
She knew so long ago.
She watches as they stumble
She hurts each time they fall
She cries to try to warn them
But no-one hears her call.
The old ones now are dying
The young ones now are old
The new ones don't remember
The stories she once told.
O hear us cry in pain
O see us dream in vain
We know that once you came
So won't you come again.
We had no right to bury
Your thoughts and dreams with flesh
So leave behind the attic
And start your life afresh.
There's time enough for reason
There's time enough for rhyme
We have another season
Let's try it one more time.
