Compounding Losses

by Family on May 23, 2022

by Daughter

Is it possible
That when my great loves die
Part of me goes with them
Half of my heartbeats
Leaving me with half of my energy
Half of my memories
Leaving me with half of my identity
Are those pieces
There in the liminal space
In the fog of changes
Neither with me
Nor with my loves
But making friends with the halves of others
Compounding losses
Somewhere making a whole
