Maybe All I Want

by Family on April 25, 2022

by Father

Maybe all I want now
Is the anticipated rain
Thunder in the distance
A far off haunting train
Nothing else around me
But the growling of the wind
And a piercing cold emotion
That wants it all to end
To ride a bolt of lightning
Through the blackness of the sky
To see the earth below me
Reflect into my eye
To feel the burning embers
Of dreams that would not end
As time dissolves behind me
Disappearing with the wind
It was all I ever wanted
This love I would never see
This union and belonging
With what could never be
