Mumbled Monologues

by Family on February 20, 2022

by Father

Mumbled monologues
Muttering the past
Today is alive
But cannot last
And tomorrows mumblings
Will mimic the sounds
That should have been made
While today was around
Mumbled monologues
Recollections recorded
The glory of yesterday
So greatly distorted
Today carries with it
The cancer of time
And always falls victim
At the peak of it's prime
Mumbled monologues
Paying homage to the past
While today bravely suffers
 And fades away fast
And the saints at the temple
Sacrifice the future today
While the past steals the treasure
And slips silently away
