Daybreak's broken the dreams of night As nightmares roam the fields of day Daydreams seem to shed no light To help me find my way. The sun god in his battle dress Wins the battle but not the war I try to ease his lonliness As friends desert him by the score. Fear has triumphed once again and feeds the greed of mortal men Mortal men who's bodies die But leave behind immortal lies. They took the King and killed his dream They bound him up in chains For a million years they heard him scream But made no effort to ease his pain. Daybreak's broken more than dreams Its strangled the spirit of man Reality's loose again it seems To ravage and plunder the land.
